Drive north on gritty NW 7th Avenue, and packed in amongst the pawn shops and seedy strip malls you’ll find this amazing place. Like the infamous White Witch’s courtyard, this somewhat eerie wonderland is packed chock-a-block with cast and carved stone statuary from the totally cute to the utterly bizarre. From the typical Florida fare of stone alligators, sea gulls, and garden gnomes, to full-on Spanish fountains, carved knights, and mermaids spitting water, this is a goldmine of roadside kitsch. Don’t expect it to be cheap, however. These guys are artistes of the old-school casting business. Prices can range from a few dollars for cast stepping stones to thousands for a fountain. Indie-cred alert: this place has a mythic reputation with former skate-punks because they sell a staple of DIY ramp construction: pool coping.
